Rome is preparing to welcome over half a million young people from 146 countries for the Jubilee of Youth, the largest event of the 2025 Holy Year.
The weeklong celebration, running from July 28 to August 3, will feature religious gatherings, vigils, and special access to the Holy Doors of the Papal Basilicas. The event aims to foster hope, fraternity, and peace among youth in a world marked by conflict. Pilgrims from around the globe, including large groups from Korea, Egypt, the US, and Africa, are traveling to Rome, while those unable to attend can participate via livestreams.
The Vatican and city officials are making extensive preparations to ensure a safe and meaningful experience despite expected high temperatures.
